Escape the bustle of the city and immerse yourself in the natural landscapes of East Java with a day trip to Tumpak Sewu Waterfall and Goa Tetes. This excursion combines scenic countryside views, an adventurous trek, and the opportunity to explore two remarkable natural attractions in the Lumajang region. Your journey begins with a drive from Surabaya/Malang/Yogyakarta toward Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, with a travel time of approximately three hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. As you arrive, prepare to discover a spectacular waterfall surrounded by towering cliffs, dense tropical vegetation, and a dramatic semicircular landscape. Follow a local guide along the designated trekking route toward the waterfall area. The descent can take around an hour, depending on your pace, the chosen route, and trail conditions. Along the way, enjoy views of the surrounding greenery before reaching the main waterfall area, where multiple streams cascade down the cliffs to create Tumpak Sewu’s distinctive curtain-like appearance. Continue your exploration to Goa Tetes, a nearby natural attraction featuring water flowing over textured rock formations and into cave-like spaces. Its distinctive landscape offers another perspective on the area's natural beauty and provides opportunities for photography and exploration. Access may involve steep, slippery, or uneven paths, so follow your guide's directions and avoid areas that have been closed for safety reasons. After spending time exploring both destinations, take a break for lunch at a local restaurant along the return route. The tour concludes with a transfer back to Surabaya or Malang, depending on your selected drop-off location. *What to Expect on This Tour* - Panoramic waterfall scenery: Admire the cascading streams and dramatic cliffs that make Tumpak Sewu one of East Java’s most recognisable natural attractions. - Guided trekking experience: Explore the designated trails with local guidance while enjoying the tropical surroundings and views along the route. - Natural rock formations at Goa Tetes: Discover a contrasting landscape of flowing water, textured stone, and cave-like formations. - A full day of outdoor exploration: Combine two nearby destinations in one trip, with time for sightseeing, photography, and a meal before returning to your chosen destination. *Practical Travel Tips* Wear sturdy trekking shoes with good grip, as the routes can be muddy, steep, and slippery. Bring a change of clothes, a waterproof bag for your phone and valuables, drinking water, and some cash for personal expenses. The trek can be physically demanding, so assess your fitness before choosing to descend to the waterfall floor. Heavy rainfall, strong water flow, landslide risks, and local safety restrictions may affect access to the waterfall or Goa Tetes. Follow your local guide’s instructions and check trail conditions before departure. Experience the natural wonders of East Java on a memorable day trip to Tumpak Sewu Waterfall and Goa Tetes. Contact your tour operator to confirm the itinerary, transportation arrangements, guide services, admission fees, and other package inclusions before booking.

Our guide Alex picked us up at the hotel at 1 am together with the driver. The communication beforehand was clear and swift, so we were prepared well for the trip. Alex was very patient with us doing the hikes up to the viewpoint and later the Bromo crater. And over all wonderful company, he knows a lot about the area. 10/10 highly recommend!!
Sarah Mitchell
Our guide had us at the Bromo viewpoint before any of the tour buses arrived. Having the jeep to ourselves made the whole sunrise feel a lot less rushed.
Daniel Ochoa
Did the Ijen blue fire hike with just my partner and the guide. Steep and cold at 2am, but he paced it well and had masks ready for the sulfur smoke.

Tumpak Sewu was the highlight of our trip. Pickup from Malang ran about 20 minutes late, but the driver kept us updated the whole time.
Tomás Ferreira
Booked the 4-day grand tour. Every vehicle swap and hotel change-over was handled without us having to think about it.
Hana Kobayashi
Solo traveler, was a bit nervous about a private tour, but it ended up being more comfortable than a group van. Guide answered questions in English easily.
Marcus Webb
Good value for a private trip. Would suggest packing warmer layers than the packing list mentions — Bromo before sunrise is properly cold.
Elena Petrova
Booked last minute for a 1-day Bromo trip and they still managed to arrange everything within a few hours. Jeep driver knew exactly where to stop for photos.
